I Went to a Drag Queen Brunch at Hamburger Mary’s in Long Beach

And it was awesome!!  I am a huge fan of Rupaul’s Drag Race.  I was turned onto it after it had already been on for five seasons.  My friend Marie told me that I should check it out and I did, and became hooked.  Immediately!  Ever since I have been watching it faithfully, wishing I could go on the Drag Stars at Sea cruises and pretty much feeling like a drag queen expert, haha!  (I’m not)  Earlier this year Rupaul’s Drag Con happened and I really, really, wanted to go but I didn’t because I did not have anyone to go with.  It’s such a sad story.  Anywho, so Janae (my SIL) and I have been talking about going to the Drag Brunch at Hamburger Mary’s for months.  It is a brunch buffet with endless, and I mean endless mimosas and a drag show.  Heck yes I was down for this!

We arrived a little after 11:00.  Everyone working at this joint was super duper nice.  But first, let’s talk food.  The brunch buffet was pretty good, not the best food I’ve ever had but it was efficient.  And there was so much food.  I piled my plate super high and could not finish it all.  The best part was the fried chicken.  I really enjoyed that. Since I don’t know how to make fried chicken, I take it when I can get it!  There were pancakes, waffles, cinnamon rolls, all kindsa bread and bagels, etc.  Of course there was eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and even an omelet station.  Our waitress never let us finish a glass before she was refilling our mimosas.  I had to cut myself off after a few.  I had to drive home after all, haha!

We sat and ate for quite awhile and then the show started around 12:15.  The performances were quite good, some better than others.  The two people I already follow on Instagram that I loved most were Jasmine Masters and Landon Cider.  Ms Jasmine Masters competed on Season 7 of RPDR and Landon Cider actually came to a drag show at my university last semester so that is when I started to follow him on social media.  That was also a great show and three of them were RPDR alumni.  Here’s a picture from that time:

The other performers at the brunch,  Psycadella and Trinna Modele, were good as well.  All this being said, I definitely want to go again and recommend it to all!
